The story behind our product We designed this product as the best bang for the buck solution to rider discomfort during long distance cruising. We found that the seat manufacturers were in a tough situation. They had to use very rigid foam in order to assure that even the heaviest rider didn’t bottom out on the seat pan due to the thin padding they use. Unfortunately this results in a seat that is simply too hard for most riders. We collaborated with our foam supplier in Mississippi and came up with the optimum foam thickness and density specifications for these pads. (IFD ~ 15) Riders up to 250 pounds will have the majority of their weight supported by the pad material then the seat padding takes over. The difference is like night and day. The cover materials were carefully selected to provide comfort and durability equal to or better than sheepskins at a fraction of the cost. We paid as much attention to the bottoms of the pads as the other components. The bottoms are made of manmade leather- like material, are designed to be water resistant, slip resistant and long wearing.
